Corporate volunteer days with the Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park get people out of the office and into the woods and meadows for fun and meaningful activities to develop team work, problem-solving and communication skills. Our unique teambuilding days suit organisations of all sizes to help deliver your corporate social responsibility (CSR) needs.

Booking

To book or find out more, please contact Suzanna or Ken on 0208 9831277 or email contact@fothcp.org. When you contact us please state the size of your group and the date (roughly) you’d like to visit. We normally only host groups 9am-4pm Tue-Fri, but sometimes we do have availability on other dates/times.

It’s a really popular day out, and we prioritise bookings from companies that are able to pay. The expected donation is £30 per person May-October, and £25 Nov-April, to encourage groups to visit us in colder weather. If paying is an issue, please contact us anyway and we’ll suggest alternative options.

On behalf of the whole Barclays Team that spent the day with you we would like to thank you personally for all the effort and time you spent into making our day with you as efficient and fun. I have organised a number of Community Days and the time we spent with you was brilliant, I loved the way you told us all about the history of the Park before we started so that we got a true feeling of how we were helping to keep the history and the future of the park alive.

What to expect

We focus on urgent, seasonal tasks and projects. We can take up to 100 volunteers to do seasonal tasks like planting wildflowers, felling and planting trees, removing weeds, litter picking, and repairing paths. We ensure we have interesting and varied tasks to provide a great experience for visiting organisations year-round.

Physical tasks encourage motivation, boost staff morale and provide a huge sense of achievement. As well as getting an excellent workout, corporate volunteers contribute greatly to the important nature conservation work we do in the park which directly benefits wildlife, local residents and school groups who use the park every day.

Winter Volunteering

In winter, we would like to invite you to join us at the park for a day of volunteering and activities; uniquely organised for you and your team. The park might be quieter but there is still lots of essential work taking place to keep everything running and prepare for the next year. We will spend the morning doing volunteering activities such as small tree felling, dead hedge building or selective weeding. We can either continue with that in the afternoon, or arrange an additional activity for your team. These activities are great for team building and well-being; while enjoying the beauty of the park in the winter.

Please contact Suzanna and Ken, using the form below (sorry, the form is temporarily out of action – please email us), to ask about volunteering activities and we’d be delighted to discuss the options.
