Want to meet up with your colleagues, but the office isn’t an option yet? Come outdoors! We’re well equipped to keep your team socially distanced and feeling safe.

We’re flexible in our offer – we host shorter volunteering days than usual, give guided walks about foraging, and are happy to work with you to find something that suits your current needs. Note that work, voluntary and charity activities are not affected by the ‘rule of six’. Our safety policy and risk assessment is here.

Corporate volunteer days with the Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park get people out of the office and into the outdoors for fun and meaningful activities to develop team work, problem-solving and communication skills. Our teambuilding days suit organisations of all sizes to help deliver your corporate social responsibility (CSR) needs.

To book or find out more, please contact Suzanna or Ken. Use the form at the bottom of this page, email contact@fothcp.org or call 0208 9831277 . Please state the size of your group and the date (roughly) you’d like to visit. We normally only host groups 9am-4pm Tue-Fri (11am-3pm Wed-Fri during Covid-19 restrictions), but sometimes we have availability on other dates/times.

We prioritise bookings from organisations that are able to pay. The expected donation is £30 per person. If paying is an issue, please contact us anyway and we’ll suggest alternative options (e.g. donating an hour’s wages).

What to expect

We can take from 10 to 100 volunteers to do seasonal tasks like planting wildflowers, felling and planting small trees, removing weeds, litter picking, and repairing paths.

Physical tasks and being somewhere green encourages motivation, boosts staff morale and provides a huge sense of achievement. As well as getting an excellent workout, corporate volunteers contribute to the important nature conservation work we do in the park which directly benefits wildlife and the local community.

In winter and the festive season

In addition to the usual volunteering day, we can also offer activities like wreath making while enjoying a glass of mulled wine/mulled apple juice.

Schedule for the day

We’ll discuss an alternative schedule to suit your needs when working with Covid-19 restrictions.

  • 09:30 – Site induction, health and safety talk

We would like to thank you for the effort and time you spent into making our community day efficient and fun. I have organised a number of days, and the time we spent with you was brilliant. I loved the way you told us all about the history of the Park before we started so that we got a true feeling of how we were helping to keep the history and the future of the park alive.
